TRATOLIXO is a certified intermunicipal company, 100% owned by AMTRES - Associação de Municípios de Cascais, Mafra, Oeiras e Sintra para o Tratamento de Resíduos Sólidos (Association of Municipalities of Cascais, Mafra, Oeiras and Sintra for the Treatment of Solid Waste) - and responsible for the public service of treating Municipal Waste produced by more than 800,000 inhabitants of the municipalities of this Municipal Waste Management System.

As a result of their hard, rigorous and efficient work, various recyclable products are produced - which are then forwarded for recycling - electricity and compost.
